Welcome to ModRoc. Today, September 1st 2006, is our official first day open. Why don’t we get started by how this works! Almost daily, I will post about new and upcoming bands making it big. Above, you can see pictures, clicking on the pictures makes them larger. When enlarged, click on the left or right sides of the picture to move through the group of pics. Also, when possible, we’ll post sound clips of songs which you can listen to by clicking the play button, like above. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated, and thanks so much for stopping by!

For the first official post to ModRoc, I decided to write about a local band from my hometown. This band, although local, is known all over the Philadelphia region by teens as being an amazing band, both live and recorded. Capitol Risk mold together sounds from Mae, Jimmy Eat World, and obviously many other rock and non-rock influences. In my book, this band is a true winner and it should not be long before they have a recording contract.
Had I not lived in this area and never met a few of the members of the band, I probably would’ve never guessed they were just teenagers. Their crisp lyrics, sweet harmony, tight guitar and perfectly fitting drums grasp the listener into the music.
This band had a big break lately, being able to play at one of the tour stops of the Warped Tour here in PA. Honestly, I’d give this band 2 years till they hit it big. All the guys in this band have a big future ahead of them.
Quite simply, were having the time of our lives. Were dedicated and we love what we do. We love meeting new people, and playing in front of anyone who will listen to us. And the way we see it, you are only young once…. so we may as well live it up. We play as many weekends out of the month as time and travel will allow, and the meantime we constantly try to get better and to keep things new and exciting for our audience. We try to do as much as we possibly can by ourselves, and so far it’s worked out pretty well. The band stayed nearly intact since we started playing together in the fall of 2001, and in late spring of 2004, Capitol Risk added a second guitarist and became the four piece (in your face-rocking out-having more fun than ever before) band we are today. Capitol Risk saw its first pre-packaged cd release in early 2005, the “Step of Scout” EP, and ever since, things have only gotten better. Nothing makes us happier than the kids who sing along in the front row at our shows, or when someone tells us our music has brough them to a realization… that means we have accomplished our goal. We are staying ambitious, energetic, self driven, young, and aspiring. Our second self-released pressed EP will be on on June 17th, 2006, which will hopefully grab the attention of many on the east coast and the rest of the country. We’re the friendliest guys ever, so make sure you come say hi at a show and talk with us!!!(Myspace)
